Cost benefit analysis:
Determining cost-benefit or return-on-investment – making the “business case” – for EH&S in general, is a subject that has gained traction over the years, especially as the national and global economies have fallen into recession. The old question, “What is the cost of an accident that never happens?” has plagued risk managers and EH&S professionals for decades. The subject is of obvious importance as more and more organizations are looking to adopt a comprehensive EH&S software solution.

Several organizations evaluating and using DataPipe over the last decade have performed internal studies to determine the economic and business implications for the implementation or expansion of a large-scale EH&S information management software solution. The results of their studies, which they were kind enough to share with us, are included “as is” in the charts below (numbers come directly from “their” reports, with the exception of the ROI calculations which we provided based on their numbers and identifying names which have been removed).
